Great question! We created the STF Awards in 2012 for of the sheer love of photography, and to allow you to gain exposure and feedback on your work. The community is self-sustaining, but only because we charge for STF submissions, as well as Pro and Premium STF memberships. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to keep the lights on. If you can afford to become a Pro or Premium member, it goes a long way to helping us stay sustainable – it also unlocks some pretty sweet features, which we will continue to improve. 😀
If you can’t afford the Pro or Premium membership, the Basic membership option is completely free.

Daily uploads refers to the amount of photo a member can upload to the STF community on a daily basis.
Basic members have a daily upload limit of 3 photos, meaning they can only upload 3 photos to the STF community everyday. Pro and Premium members are able to upload an unlimited amount of photos to the STF community everyday.
STF submissions allow you to submit photos into the STF Awards. One STF submission allows you to submit one photo within the current month.
If you are a Basic member and you have purchased STF submissions, we will increase your daily upload limit to accommodate the STF submissions available.
Basic members have a daily upload limit of 3, however when a Basic member purchases STF Awards Submissions, their daily photo upload limit will increase to accomodate the number of STF submissions available, so you can get all of your STF Awards Submissions in on the same day.
